Mrs. Ashlie Pearce

I was born and raised in Wayne County. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and I have been inspired by many of the amazing educators in Wayne County throughout my elementary, middle, and high school years. I am passionate about building strong relationships with students and their families and teaching socioemotional and leadership skills that help students thrive in their academic journey and future endeavors beyond the classroom. I have a particular interest in teaching literacy, and I hope to give students the necessary skills to become confident readers who develop a lifelong love of reading.

I am entering the 11th year of my education career as a teacher at Jesup Elementary. I taught kindergarten for seven years and moved to teaching 2nd grade in 2020. I enjoy helping younger students build strong foundational skills and love seeing how much they grow and learn throughout the year. I am also the JES Lighthouse Team Coordinator, and I am responsible for helping to implement the Leader in Me program at our school. I believe that every individual is innately talented and uniquely gifted. I am honored to help students and staff grow their leadership capabilities by giving them the tools they need to tap into those gifts.

I am married to Christopher Pearce, and we have three children, Anslie, 14, Reese, 10, and Luke, 7. In my free time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. I am honored to represent Jesup Elementary as Teacher of the Year!
