Media Statement – Revised Schedule for Wayne County First Day of School
Following consultations with community officials, the first day of school for students has been rescheduled to Monday, August 12, 2024. This postponement provides additional time for the city’s stormwater and sewer systems to recover from the recent storm and allows county personnel time to assess and repair damaged roads.
Details regarding the Open House for Pre-K through Grade 12, as well as Freshman Orientation, are still being finalized. We will share updates on these events as soon as possible.
