Patient Care Fundamentals Course Requirements

Thank you for being so interested in the Patient Care Fundamentals Course here at Wayne County High School. By taking this course and meeting all requirements, you will be able to sit for the Georgia Nurse Aide Exam. If you pass the test, you will become a Certified Nurse Aide Registered with the State of Georgia. This will be an outstanding experience for you.

This course is a Dual Enrollment course. Therefore, there are some requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for the class. 

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and a Junior/Senior as of the 22-23 School Year.
  • Must have completed and passed Introduction to Healthcare and Essentials of Healthcare or currently enrolled in Essentials with a passing grade.
  • If selected for the class, must complete the Dual Enrollment paperwork.
  • If selected for the class, must present a valid Social Security Card as this is required to take the Georgia Nurse Aide Exam.
  • If selected for the class, must present a valid driver’s license or government issued form of identification as this is required to take the Georgia Nurse Aide Exam.

Due to limited class seating, the students will be chosen using a competitive admission process. The process will include looking at attendance, GPA, Healthcare Science grades, and teacher recommendations. Teacher recommendations must be submitted to teachers that have taught you this school year (not advisors). Please click the link to complete the application, attach a copy of your current unofficial transcript no later than February 15, 2022. Applications will not be accepted after this date.
